Premier's Reading Challenge

Premier's Reading Challenge (PRC)

All children at our school are encouraged to take part in Premier's Reading Challenge (PRC). The Challenge aims to encourage a love of reading for leisure and pleasure in students, and to enable them to experience quality literature. It is not a competition but a challenge to each student to read, to read more and to read more widely.

Students need to read books that are on the PRC list for their appropriate year level. There are 3 levels on the list:

  • PRC K-2 list
  • PRC 3-4 list
  • PRC 5-6 list

To complete the challenge, children must read the following number of books:

  • K - Year 2 students read 30 books - you can read the books on your own, with someone, or someone can read them to you. (We will manage to read these in library lessons and class).

  • Year 3 - 6 students read 20 books - you must read the books on your own (but someone can help you choose them).

For help with the Premier's Reading Challenge, see Mrs Veugen or Mrs Bates in the library.
